Alma Mexica is the personal work of FrankGenius, developer and researcher. With no institutional affiliation of any kind: what is asserted here commits nobody else, and whatever is wrong is one person's responsibility.

How the work is done

Provenance by assertion, not by global bibliography. Each claim carries the source it rests on, in place, rather than a list of books at the end that covers everything and nothing.

Discrepancies are published rather than settled. Where two sources disagree, both figures appear with their origin. Choosing one in silence would be the easy thing and the wrong one.

What is not known is declared. A gap stated is worth more than a gap filled in.
