Mexica Sign
The obsidian mirror of fate
Every morning, your day read in the Mexica calendar: its sign, its number and what the sixteenth-century sources say about it. With the real 20 signs and 13 numbers, not the twelve-sign zodiac with Aztec names.
What you get every morning
Your Aztec sign is not the month you were born in but the day: one of the twenty signs of the Aztec calendar, with its number from 1 to 13. That is what the sources describe, and what this app reads every morning.
Each day brings its sign, its number and its stars, with a clear sentence and how six areas look: love, family, work, money, health and friendships.
Where each omen comes from
From the sources, and you can see which: Sahagún and the Florentine Codex, Durán and the codices of central Mexico, or from the living tradition, stated as such.
It is the same discipline as this site. Tap a star and you see where it comes from.
What is paid for, and what is not
The calendar is free, here and in both apps. What the paid version removes are the ads and the daily cap; what it adds is the full reading: the fit to your own experience and the sky of your birth.
No accounts and no servers: your birth date and your diary live only on your phone.

Questions that reach this page
What is Mexica Sign?
The companion app to Alma Mexica: it reads your day according to the tonalpohualli, the 260-day count, with the omen the sixteenth-century sources attribute to each day and where each one comes from.
What do the Aztec zodiac signs mean?
Each of the twenty carries what the sixteenth-century sources attribute to it: an omen, a direction, a ruling energy. This site publishes all twenty, free and with their source, and the app reads them day by day. Neither invents: where the source is silent, the gap is declared.
Is there an Aztec horoscope app?
Yes: Mexica Sign, which reads your day in the tonalpohualli, the 260-day count. What sets it apart is the sources: every omen says where it comes from — Sahagún, Durán, the codices or the living tradition — and you can check.
Is the Aztec calendar app free?
The free version gives you your full day every morning, with ads, and lets you read three days other than today. The paid one removes the ads and the cap. The calendar itself is not charged for anywhere: it is here on this site, whole and free.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes. No accounts and no servers: the computation happens on the phone, and your birth date and diary never leave it. The ads in the free version are the only thing that needs the network.
Which Aztec horoscope app is the right one?
Three checks, and they take a minute on any of them. Twenty signs or twelve? If twelve, it is the Western zodiac with borrowed names. By day or by month range? The tonalpohualli goes day by day. Does it say where each thing comes from? If not, it is choosing for you.
