Codex Vaticanus B
Pre-Hispanic · Vatican Library
What it is
Of the Borgia group, and the closest to the Borgia of them all: same folded-hide format, same style, and not one gloss added later in either.
Also called Codex Vaticanus 3773, for its shelfmark.
Why it is cited here
Because it repeats, with variations, the ritual sequences of the Borgia — the trecenas with their patrons, the directions, the Lords of the Night — and the variations are what let one see which associations were fixed and which were not.
Where it is
In the Vatican Apostolic Library, in Rome.
Read this entry in Spanish, where the sixteenth-century sources are quoted in full.
